ERASMUS IP program prize "Wings" for modeling courses

Very nice surprise was to learn that our ERASMUS IP educational courses on modeling in systems biology and synthetic biology were selected as the best among ERASMUS IP courses in Latvia. Our prize wining courses are described separatelly for each year: 2012 and 2013.

Synthetic biology conference in Athens organised by ERASynBio

Francois Kepes formed a wonderful conference in Athens where very different synthetic biology players met each other demonstrating very different aspects of the branch. Athens was nicely decorated for Christmas by oranges in the trees along the streets.

Egils Stalidzans gets a medal

A medal "for Diligence" was awarded to Egils Stalidzans by Latvian Ministry of Agriculture 15-th November 2013.

Egils Stalidzans is funded by DAAD for one month in Heidelberg

A wonderful stay in Heidelberg University, BIOQUANT centre was made possible by Latvian DAAD centre.

Egils Stalidzans was visiting Sven Sahle group and had opportunity to see also other research groups of BIOQUANT. And of course Heidelberg itself was taking care about great moode!

28.-29.10.2013. the Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) writing and ripening was continued. Now we had a very good draft of SRA. That was analysed in group work. That was great meeting of synthetic biology community.

ERASysAPP in Cyprus

4-th General assembly meeting of ERASysAPP was held in Cyprus in a fantastic location 15.-16. October 2013. Project progress in different aspects was analysed. Egils Stalidzasn reported about the development of systems biology related enterprise list.

ITAPIC is celebrated in Berlin

A great ERA-net event on ICT-Agri development perspectives was held in Berlin. One of important topics was the announcement of ITAPIC project funding by German government. Even a poster was dedicated to ITAPIC. Uwe Richter and Egils Stalidzans were very honoured.

The kick-off meeting of ITAPIC project in Jelgava

13-th August 2013 ITAPIC project partners met in Jelgava to clarify the future steps of collaboration. Biosystems group demonstrated their devices and the bee wintering building. A joint seminar of project partners attracted many participants.

Hochschulkontor project trip to Heidelberg

A very nice trip to Heidelberg was paid by Baltic-German University Liaison Office. Natalja Bulipopa, Katrina Landmane, Jurijs Sulins and Egils Stalidzans from Biosystems group worked with the group of Sven Sahle and gave a joint seminar about convergence properties of global stochastic optimisation methods.

ERASynBio networking meeting in London

ERASynBio had a number of events in London attached to the SB6.0 meeting. One of the events was the networking between synthetic biology centres. Priorities of synthetic biology development were discussed. One of priorities is a information exchange web service.
